Minimally Invasive Surgery

Minimally invasive surgery is surgery that causes less pain. The core of this technique is laparoscopic surgery, which involves making several small holes in the body, injecting carbon dioxide into the abdominal cavity, and inserting an endoscope.

This is a surgical method that reduces the amount of skin to be cut as much as possible, and has great advantages for the patient, such as “smaller scars and less pain,” “faster recovery than open surgery,” and “less adhesion of organs after surgery.”

However, depending on the type and progression of the disease, open surgery may be required. Also, laparoscopic surgery generally takes longer than open surgery.

Tokyo Hikifune Hospital introduced laparoscopic surgery in 2016 before it moved from Shirahigebashi Hospital

Major surgeries include laparoscopic appendectomy, cholecystectomy, gastrectomy, colectomy, hiatal hernia repair, inguinal hernia repair, abdominal incisional hernia repair, and bowel obstruction surgery. We were able to shorten the length of stay for a hospitalization.

Tokyo Hikifune Hospital will continue to provide laparoscopic surgery as a regional medical treatment with safety as our top priority while considering the best treatment for each patient.
