Medical ConneX

Our hospital has introduced the world’s first medical vehicles “Medical-ConneX” equipped with a CT device and a biochemical/immunological device to respond to natural and man-made disasters.

“Medical-ConneX” consists of two vehicles, an inspection vehicle and a power supply vehicle. Inside the vehicle, there are a CT device, a portable X-ray device, an immunobiochemical analyzer, an automatic blood cell counter, a blood gas analyzer, an ultrasound diagnostic imaging device, AI image analysis software, an IT cloud system, a medical information management system and bedside monitor. It has a system configuration that can cover everything from independent operations to collaborative operations with medical institutions.
It takes time to restore the medical functions that have been damaged in the disaster area, and there are many cases in which transportation outside the area is difficult. We believe that the rapid deployment of these vehicles to disaster sites will improve the level of medical care in the affected areas and improve the accuracy of triage, thereby it can greatly contribute to the activities of the disaster medical team. To ensure smooth dispatch and operation, we participate in regular drills together with the Tokyo DMAT and other disaster dispatch teams, aiming to become “a hospital rushing to the disaster site” to save many lives in the event of a disaster.
