Neurosurgery

Content of medical treatment

Our department is engaged in the diagnosis and treatment of neurological disorders with a clinical system consisting of three full-time doctors, including a specialist from the Japan Neurosurgical Society, and a part-time doctor. Since the opening of the hospital, the number of operations and surgical treatments has increased, and we plan to expand the treatment system in the future. In addition, we also provide outpatient examinations and treatments for headaches, dizziness, and cognitive impairment that cause problems in daily life. To reduce the burden of going to the hospital, we will refer you to your family doctor if your condition has stabilized.

Features of the department

1. Treatment for a wide range of neurological disorders:
We provide medical care for a wide range of neurological diseases such as stroke, head injury, brain tumor, functional neurosurgery, and spinal cord disease. In particular, for acute strokes and severe head injuries, we provide prompt treatment in cooperation with our Emergency Medical Center.

  • Stroke (cerebral infarction, intracerebral hemorrhage, subarachnoid hemorrhage, cerebral arteriovenous malformation, moyamoya disease, etc.)
  • Head injury (skull fracture, brain contusion, acute subdural hematoma, chronic subdural hematoma, etc.)
  • Brain tumor (meningioma, metastatic brain tumor, etc.)
  • Functional diseases (hemifacial spasm, trigeminal neuralgia, hydrocephalus, etc.)

2. Introducing the latest medical equipment and techniques to provide appropriate treatment:
We have introduced the latest medical equipment and aim to perform safe and minimally invasive neurosurgery even for difficult diseases.

  • Surgery in a hybrid operating room equipped with a robotic arm-supported angiography device linked to the operating table
  • Minimally invasive surgery by neuron-endoscopic surgery
  • Cerebral surgical treatment and surgery using cerebral angiography equipment with high-resolution and advanced image analysis equipment

3. Strengthening cooperation with university hospitals and rehabilitation hospitals:
We have strengthened the system of cooperation with university hospitals in Tokyo, and have built a system that can contribute to regional medical care even in the case of rare diseases or diseases that are difficult to treat. On the other hand, we have built close relations with medical corporations and rehabilitation hospitals in the region, so that after acute treatment at our hospital, we can lead to convalescent treatment seamlessly.

4. Postoperative management in an intensive care unit (ICU) certified by the Japanese Society of Intensive Care Medicine:
Postoperative management of neurosurgical diseases requiring multidisciplinary treatment is performed in the ICU.
