Treatment policy for religions and beliefs

We are committed to making every possible effort to accommodate the religious beliefs of our patients so that they can receive medical care with peace of mind. We will do our best to fulfill your request as much as possible. If you have any additional requests, please don’t hesitate to contact our staff.

*Please be advised that we may not be able to meet all requests.

Bloodless Medicine

1)We understand and respect the value of your refusal of blood transfusion, especially your belief in refusing blood transfusion for religious reasons, as a right based on your personal rights.

2)Whether your opinion of refusing blood transfusion is firm or not will be judged on a case-by-case basis. We understand that religious values belong solely to the patient.

3)We do not consider the refusal of blood transfusion as opposed to the medical value of life-saving first, but rather from the perspective of considering with you whether it is possible to reconcile these two values consistently.

4)We will provide sufficient information and persuasion when selecting and deciding on a treatment plan.

5)If you express a firm intention to refuse blood transfusions and you and your doctor agree on a bloodless medicine, no blood transfusions will be performed during the treatment period.

If you and your doctor are unable to reach a final agreement, you may be referred to another medical facility.

Medicines and medicinal products

We use medicines and medicinal products containing animal-derived ingredients (e.g., bovine and porcine). We may have no choice but to use them when they are highly necessary for treatment. In case of an emergency, we may not be able to explain the use of such drugs. We will take sufficient care during normal medical treatment. If you have any medicines that you refrain from using, please inform us prior to medical treatment or admission.

We have alcohol-free hand sanitizers available, so please let us know if you wish to use them. If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask us.

Meals during hospital stay

In order to provide meals that are sensitive to religious and cultural diversity, please cooperate in gathering information in advance. If necessary, our dietitian will meet with you to confirm contraindicated foods and dietary requirements.

If you refuse to be involved with the opposite sex for religious and belief reasons

Our medical staff, including doctors, are both male and female, and take turns providing medical care at night and on holidays. Even if the outpatient doctor is a woman, other doctors and medical staff may be involved in treatment at night, on holidays, or in emergencies.

Prayer room

We do not have a dedicated space for prayer. If you wish to have your own prayer space, please be admitted to a private room.
